Norwich — The Norwich Public Schools Education Foundation’s second annual Art Auction & Dessert Tasting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Kelly Middle School.

The auction features works from noted artists with Norwich connections, including Bill Diodato, Merrill Park Keeley, Gabe Lipman, Marge Izbicki, Zach Turner and Susan Matera.

Student artists from NFA, Norwich Regional Technical School and Norwich Public Schools will exhibit their works.

Admission to the auction is free. Participants are invited to try the dessert tasting table for $10.

In addition to the desserts and art, the foundation will also announce the start of three grant programs available to Norwich public school faculty.

A “School Community Grant” program, funded by an anonymous donor, will award $1,500 to a Norwich public school-based team supporting student instruction and enrichment, parent engagement and educator professional development.

The second grant program will award five to eight $250 grants to Norwich public school teachers for projects supporting student achievement.

The third grant program, from the Joseph S. Catania Science Grant Program, a foundation partner, will award up to $500 to a Norwich public school teacher or team for a project that supports a science-based curriculum initiative.
