Groton — The Groton Parks and Recreation Department, which is offering new programs this summer, will host a free Adult Sports Expo from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Farquhar Park.
Those who attend can try the three new sports being offered: kickball, pickleball and Ultimate Frisbee. Those who pre-register may win free registration to an adult sports program.
Adult sports are among the new trends in fitness, according to the National Recreation and Parks Association. They offer players the chance to burn calories and relieve stress while playing unconventional but popular pick-up sports. For more information, visit GrotonRec.com or call (860) 536-5680.
