Old Lyme - State police arrested a 29-year-old Niantic man earlier this month following an accident on Interstate 95 in Old Lyme.

Thanouthong Soulignavong, 29, of 5 Carriage Hill, Niantic, was driving north in the left lane of I-95 near Exit 71 during the early morning hours of April 6 when he lost control of his vehicle. His Honda Accord rolled over into the right shoulder or embankment, according to police.

Soulignavong then left the incident by foot, police said. Police used a K-9 and fire department thermal imaging cameras but could not find him in the immediate area.

At 6:37 that morning, police found Soulignavong at his Niantic home and charged him with driving with a suspended license or registration, evading responsibility with property damage, failure to maintain lane and failure to return a license or registration after suspension or canceled insurance.

Soulignavong is scheduled to appear Monday in New London Superior Court.
