Norwich — Police arrested a 64-year-old city suspected heroin dealer on Friday at the culmination of a months-long investigation police say has netted 884 bags of heroin, more than $130,000 in cash and a 2007 Volkwagen Rabbit.
Charles Catalano, of 297 W. Thames St., Norwich, was charged with possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine and traveling unreasonably fast.
Police said they executed a search and seizure warrant at Catalano's home and found an additional 35 bags of heroin with a street value of more than $400. Police said the 884 bags were seized as part of two prior investigations.
Police said the investigation is continuing and more arrests are expected. Held in lieu of a $100,000 bond, Catalano was expected to appear Friday in Norwich Superior Court.
