Waterford - Waterford High School erupted for seven goals in the fourth quarter to break a 2-2 tie and defeat Old Saybrook, 9-2, in a non-conference boys' lacrosse game on Saturday morning.
Spencer Sgandurra had three goals and one assist for the Lancers (3-4), Michael Beltran had three goals, Grant Larson had two goals and one assist and Bray Griffith-Potter and Tony Vocalina each scored a goal.
Goalie Taylor Huta also made four saves for Waterford, which outshot Old Saybrook 31-17. Old Saybrook is 1-4.
In other games:
• Henry Hill had four goals and one assist as Old Lyme defeated Bunnell, 10-7, in a non-league game. Joab Hunt added two goals for the Wildcats (4-1) while Ian Humphreys scored twice, Machlan Sawden and Ashton Bohan each had a goal and goalie Seth Rohrberg stopped 11 shots. Bunnell is 3-3.
• Griffin Woods, Nic Page, Zane Smallidge and Mason Pagan scored goals as Newtown added East Lyme its first loss, 8-4. The Vikings are 5-1.
• Sutton Wonderle and Meghan Corcoran each had four goals and three assists as unbeaten Simsbury (5-0) pulled away in the second half for a 14-7 victory over East Lyme. Rebecca McGlone had two goals and one assist for the Vikings (4-3) while Kendall Roberts scored twice and goalie Alex Rose made 15 saves.
• Susannah Lucey had three goals and three assists in Fitch's 19-10 loss to Old Saybrook. Daria McKenna added three goals and two assists for the Falcons (2-3) while Michelina Pinto scored twice and Jackie Kokomoor had a goal and two assists.
