The Branford Rotary Club continues its Student of the Month (SOM) program at Branford High School (BHS) by recognizing high-achieving juniors and seniors who have made distinctive academic contributions.

Faythe Ventresca, the daughter of Robert and Sharon Ventresca of Branford, was nominated by her art teacher, Donna Roy. Ventresca is a senior at BHS, at which she has achieved honors and high honors the last three years. She is the captain of the Unified Sports Team, president of the Young Women's Club, and member of Best Buddies. Ventresca has also volunteered at the Art Clinic at the Pine Orchard Club, is a youth volunteer at St. Theresa's, and coordinated a baby clothing drive to support the endangered mother's shelter in New Haven. She is looking forward to furthering her education at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising in New York in the fall.
