Norwich Top Dog contest underway

Norwich – The city’s annual contest is underway to select the dog that will wear the No. 1 license tag next year.

The city clerk’s office will accept license applications through this month to be placed in a drawing to select the top three dog license tags. The No. 1 dog also will receive a gift basket of dog toys, treats and grooming supplies.

The contest is an effort to raise awareness that all dog owners must obtain new dog licenses in June for the fiscal year that starts July 1.

Contest applicants must pay the fee - $8 for a spayed or neutered dog or $19 for an intact dog – and provide proof of rabies vaccination and proof of spay or neutering for a new dog.

Applications are available in the city clerk’s office or online on the city clerk’s page of the city's website.

The drawing will take place at noon on May 30.

For information, contact the city clerk’s office at (860) 823-3733.
