Yeomans named New England Golf Pro of the Year

The New England PGA recently named Greg Yeomans, a Ledyard High School graduate, its 2014 Golf Professional of the Year.

Yeomans is entering his 11th season as the head professional at The Bay Club at Mattapoisett, Mass.

"Clearly I was honored and humbled when I received the phone call from (PGA) president Larry Kelley," Yeomans said in a released statement. "I will cherish this award and am honored to represent the NEPGA as its Professional of the Year."

Yeomans, a UConn graduate, is an active member of the New England PGA goverance. He is in his third year as the chapter president of the Cape Cod PGA. During his career, he's also worked at Stanley Golf Course in New Britain, Sterling Farms in Stamford and Black Hall Club in Old Lyme.
