Norwich – Cardiologist Dr. John Foley, a member of the medical staff at The William W. Backus Hospital, has been named Hartford HealthCare regional director of Cardiovascular Services at Backus and Windham hospitals, Backus announced in a news release today.
Dr. Foley has been serving cardiology patients in eastern Connecticut for 15 years. Throughout his career, he’s maintained clinical, academic and leadership positions. From 2012 to 2013, he served as the president of the Connecticut State Medical Society. He also developed and served as medical director of the Heart Failure and Wellness Program at Backus.
As regional director of Cardiovascular Services, Dr. Foley will assume leadership functions as well as provide direct patient care in the hospital and office settings. From an organizational standpoint, Dr. Foley is responsible for advancing cardiology services and developing one standard of care for patients at Backus and Windham hospitals.
In addition to his administrative role, Dr. Foley is also seeing patients at the new Hartford HealthCare Medical Group for cardiovascular disease in the Backus Medical Office Building at 330 Washington St.
