Eastern Connecticut State University junior Erin Miller was named the Little East Conference softball pitcher of the year.
Miller is one of three Waterford High School graduates to earn a spot on the conference's first team Tuesday, joining sophomore shortstop Alyssa Hancock and senior centerfielder Mattie Brett. She is the fourth ECSU pitcher in the last five seasons to take home top pitcher honors.
The Warriors (25-13), who shared the LEC regular season title with Plymouth State, had a program-best five first team selections overall.
Miller posted a 5-0 record with a save and a 1.17 earned run average in nine regular-season conference games. Overall, she went 10-6 with a 2.44 earned run average and had three saves while appearing in 25 games.
It was Brett's second straight selection to the first team and Hancock's first.
Brett batted .408 overall with 36 runs scored and 32 RBI and had a team-best 13 stolen bases in 14 attempts. She ended her three-year career at Eastern with a .363 average in 127 games and had 106 runs scored and 86 RBI.
Hancock, the lead-off batter, led the Warriors with 16 doubles and shared the team lead with Brett with 36 runs. Her 122 assists topped all conference players.
