Doctor Pleads No Contest to Assaults

A Connecticut doctor convicted in five sexual assault cases involving patients has pleaded no contest in 14 other cases and agreed to surrender his medical license.

Forty-five-year-old Tory Westbrook of Glastonbury took a plea deal in the remaining sexual assault cases against him Friday in Middletown Superior Court. The deal calls for him to serve 14 years in prison for all 19 cases and to register as a sex offender when he is freed.

All the cases involved allegations that Westbrook inappropriately touched female patients during exams at the Community Health Center in Clinton. Westbrook, the husband of state Judge Dawne Westbrook, had maintained his innocence since he was arrested in 2012.

A jury convicted Westbrook in November in five of the cases.
