Old Saybrook - Old Lyme High School junior Jared Stanland won the discus with a meet-record throw of 155 feet, 7 inches, at the Running Rams Invitational at Old Saybrook. Senior Jeff Davis was second in the 800 in 2:03 and the 4x800 relay team placed sixth.
Old Saybrook won the meet with 98.5 points. Waterford (10th, 27.5), Old Lyme (11th, 25), Stonington (12th, 18.5) and Montville (13th, 17.5) also competed.
Waterford's 4x400 relay team of Connor Chung, Julio Gil-Martinez, Rolando Rivera and Bishme Sheppard placed second (3:32.95). The 4x800 relay team of Matt Labrecque, Dan Clark, Justin Virga and Caleb Harris placed third (8:55.56) while the 4x100 team of Rivera, Robert Roberson, Sheppard and Gil-Martinez was third (45.40).
Stonington's Jack Dipollino was second in the long jump (20-0.75).
Montville's Tom Podeszwa was third in the high jump (5-10).
In other meets:
• Fitch's Tyler Latham set the school and meet record in the 300-meter hurdles, finishing in 38.63 seconds at the Greater Hartford Invitational. He broke the Fitch record held by Sean Rader (38.80, 1988). John Floyd was second in the high jump (6-0), Latham also was third in the long jump (21-1) and Brian Robinson took third in the discus (144-9), while Vernon Powe was fourth in the high jump (5-10) and Bobby Johnston was seventh in the javelin (151-10) for the Falcons.
Ledyard's Joseph Carter won the 100 (11.36), 200 (22.84) and long jump (21-5).
• Stonington's 4x400 relay team of Molly Crowley, Kalie Novak, Kenna McWilliams and Meg Rolfe placed first in 4:22.30 in the Old Saybrook's Running Rams Invitational. The Bears finished 16th overall with 14 points.
Waterford's Savonnah Artis won the triple jump in 34-8 while the 4x100 relay team of Artis, Emma Biltcliffe, Olivia Bueno and Carissa Aekins placed third (54.26). Jeannette Mooney was second in the 3,200 (12:22.02) for the Lancers, who finished with 24 points to take 14th.
Kelley Kloner finished first in the discus (86-7) for Montville, which was fifth overall with 53 points. Kiah Strickland was third in the 100 hurdles (16.78) while Nadia Dallas took second in the long jump (15-5) and third in the 100 (13.20). Caitlin Turney took third in the 300 hurdles (50.62) and Maddy Campbell was third in the triple jump (32-0).
Old Lyme's Kaylyn Weise tied for second in the pole vault (8-6).
• Ledyard's Chenoa Sebastain won the 100 hurdles in 14.96 competing in the Greater Hartford Invitational. Teammate Ari Fustini was third in the javelin (111-9).
