The 42nd Wildcat Invitational golf tournament tees off today at the Mohegan Sun Country Club at Pautipaug in Baltic.
Powerhouse Glastonbury returns to defend its title. Berlin and Xavier, which placed second and third last year, respectively, also are back.
Norwich Free Academy is expected to be one of the top contenders from the Eastern Connecticut Conference. Justin Bohara leads the Wildcats, who will attempt to improve on their seventh-place finish last year.
Twenty-five teams are in the field, including two apiece from East Lyme and NFA. The Vikings were the top local finishers last year, placing fourth.
Tee times are: 8:30 a.m. - Rockville, Stonington, Xavier; 9 a.m. - Plainfield, Bacon Academy, NFA II; 9:30 a.m. - Killingly, East Catholic, Parish Hill; 10 a.m. - Tolland, Montville, Griswold; 10:30 a.m. - Berlin, Glastonbury, NFA I; noon - Putnam, Tourtellottee, Fitch, St. Bernard; 1 p.m. - RHAM, Marianapolis, East Lyme I; 1:30 p.m. - Ledyard, Woodstock, East Lyme II.
