New London — The Rev. Cathy Zall, executive director of the New London Homeless Hospitality Center, received an award last week for “outstanding achievement in the field of homeless or housing services.”
The Carol E. Walter Think, Be, Lead Change Award was bestowed upon Zall by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness during its annual training and meeting.
The award recognizes a person who “never loses sight of the end goal of ending homelessness, driving this mission from within her agency work,” the coalition said in a statement.
As executive director of the Homeless Hospitality Center, Zall oversees an emergency shelter, a daytime drop-in center, an array of housing support programs and a thrift store. She is also the pastor of the First Congregational Church in New London.
