Black Hall's Rainaud to play in Travelers Championship

Adam Rainaud, an assistant professional at Black Hall Club in Old Lyme, has qualified to play in next month's Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, the PGA Tour's annual Connecticut stop.

Rainaud earned an exemption into the June 19-22 event by winning the Spring PGA Stroke Play title on Wednesday at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford.

Rainaud fired a 1-under-par 143 in the 36-hole event.

"I'm most looking forward to sharing the experience with family and close friends," Rainaud told "My goal is to enjoy the experience and play the best I can."

This year's Travelers field includes, among others, reigning Masters and former Travelers champion Bubba Watson.
