Local Roundup: Old Lyme loses to Westbrook in baseball

Norwich - Sam Grigo pitched a two-hitter as Westbrook beat Old Lyme 5-0 Sunday night in a Shoreline Conference baseball game at Dodd Stadium. Grigo, a senior left-hander, struck out 11 for the White Knights (10-6, 10-6). Ross Golebiewski had a double for the Wildcats (7-10, 7-9).

Road Racing

• A pair of Quaker Hill residents led the way at the Quaker Hill Challenge, with Brian Johnson winning the 5K race in 22:08 and Sonia Magano winning the women's title in 25:25 (fifth overall). Also finishing in the top 10 were Owen Johnson of Quaker Hill (22:52), Zachary Hart of Ledyard (23:07), Patrick Quinn of New London (24:52), Erin Depot of Ledyard (25:32), Niantic's Way Hedding (26:09), Jessica Priest of Preston (27:17), Jayne Darras of Quaker Hill (28:18) and Preston's Camille Bray (28:57).

Girls' lacrosse

• Host Falmouth Academy beat Williams School 16-7 in the SENE tournament final Friday. The Blues (9-2) had their seven-game winning streak snapped - their other loss was a 9-2 defeat at Falmouth on April 12. Maddy Lahm finished the season with 37 goals and 12 assists and Lily Goldberg had 33 goals and 10 assists. They both made the New England Preparatory School all-star team.
