Over the past 22 years, Andrea Stillman has served our area and New London with grace and distinction, first as state representative and, presently, as the 20th District senator.
Her dedication and exemplary service throughout this period have rightfully earned her much appreciation from constituents.
Since the legislative session in Hartford has closed, I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Stillman for her recent accomplishments in the area of education, most notable of which were her championing legislation for an all-Magnet school district in New London and passing the Universal Pre-K Bill (Smart Start) to the implementation of new sexual assault regulations for higher education institutions.
Stillman has not only supported education during her tenure, she has led its charge. It is no surprise that in 2014, Connecticut superintendents recognized the senator for her leadership and commitment to improving public education for all students in Connecticut.
Though it hardly seems sufficient, Sen. Stillman, please accept my sincerest gratitude for a job well done!
