Mohegan Sun Mass., Everett reach 'surrounding community agreement'

Mohegan Sun Massachusetts and the city of Everett, Mass., announced today that they have reached a “surrounding community agreement” for the $1.3 billion Mohegan Sun resort casino proposed for Revere.

The agreement calls for Mohegan Sun Massachusetts to pay the city $575,000 annually once the casino opens. The deal also provides cross marketing opportunities for tourist attractions and cultural institutions in Everett. Mohegan Sun also would fund a $300,000 traffic study for the city.

Wynn Resorts, Mohegan Sun’s competitor for the one Greater Boston casino license the Massachusetts Gaming Commission is expected to award, has proposed a resort casino in Everett.
