Haddam — Two kayakers found a human body at about 3:25 on Thursday afternoon on the west bank of the Connecticut River, about a half-mile south of the Haddam Meadows boat launch, police said.
The Deep River Fire Rescue boat transported the body of the male victim, who was wearing clothing with no identification, from the river, according to the state police report.
The male subject has not been identified at this time.
The Office of the Chief States Medical Examiner responded to the scene to remove of the body. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the manner and cause of death.
State Police Troopers from Troop F responded to the area along with Detectives from State Police Central District Major Crime Squad. State Police Detectives from the Missing Persons Unit also responded to the scene to help identify the victim.
State police are continuing to investigate the incident.
