Blue Star season under way at area museums

Memorial Day marked the launch of the fifth annual season of Blue Star Museums, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation's service members, including National Guard and Reserve, and their families through Labor Day.

Local participating museums include the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, the Denison Homestead Museum in Mystic, the Nathan Hale School House in New London, New London County Historical Society, New London Maritime Society, the Avery Memorial Association - Ebenezer Avery House in Groton and the Leffingwell House Museum in Norwich
