DOGS 6 MONTHS OR OLDER REQUIRE LICENSES
Stonington - All dogs older than six months must be licensed by June 30 for the 2014-15 year. Licenses are available in the Town Clerk's office weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. or can be renewed through the mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope.
Licenses will also be issued at a rabies clinic for dogs and cats from 10 a.m. to noon June 14 at the police department. The fee for the rabies shot will be $20 cash only. All dogs must be on a leash and cats must be in a carrier.
The cost of a dog license is $8 for a neutered or spayed dog and $19 for non-altered dogs. After June 30 there is a penalty charge of $1 per month for each month that the dog is not licensed.
