Stonington — A Friday night fire that destroyed a barn at 213 Farmholme Road appears to be suspicious in nature, according to the fire marshal.

Fire Marshal Kevin Burns said the cause of the fire remains under investigation and police are investigating.

The fire was reported at 11:05 p.m. Burns said the 20-by-20 barn was a total loss. He said there were tools and a lawn tractor inside the structure.

The Wequetequock Fire Department responded to the fire.

Burns also said that a fire at 31 S. Broad St. also remains under investigation, but it appears the fire, which started in a rear bedroom, was caused by an electrical failure.

Five tenants were displaced as a result of the fire. The Pawcatuck Fire Department responded to the fire.

What are your feelings about the swap of Taliban detainees for Army Sgt. Bergdahl?
It was the right thing to do. No soldier should be left behind. Period.
I thought our policy was to not negotiate with terrorist groups.
I initially supported the swap, but as more details have become available, I am not so sure now.
Absolutely not worth it, especially if the reports are true that soldiers died looking for Sergeant Bergdahl after senior American military officials say he wandered off his base.
