Stonington — Police are investigating the attack on a 65-year-old Lords Point resident at his home Friday who was taken to the hospital for treatment of puncture wounds and lacerations.
Police received word of the assault at 6:06 p.m. and said the unidentified victim reported being assaulted by a younger male with a sharp instrument or a knife.
The victim, who lives on Lords Point, indicated that he had gone to his storage shed under his residence and was assaulted by a white male with short blond hair who had a knife and was inside his storage area when he entered, according to a statement from Stonington Police Captain Jerry Desmond.
The victim suffered lacerations and puncture wounds and was taken by ambulance to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital. His condition is unknown.
Stonington detectives, Amtrak police and a Groton Town police dog team responded to the scene to investigate. The case remains under investigation.
