Large fight in Norwich leads to injury, arrests

Norwich — One person sustained knife wounds and several people have been charged in connection with a large fight Thursday afternoon outside the Oakwood Knoll apartment complex. 

Police responded to the area at about 4 p.m. for reports of a large disturbance. Officers arrived to find a large group of people and one victim suffering from non-life-threatening lacerations caused by a knife, according to city police Sgt. John Perry. 

The victim was taken by ambulance for treatment at The William W. Backus Hospital. 

Police said multiple arrests were made at the scene and more are expected. Names are not yet available. 

The investigation is ongoing, Perry said, and further details are not yet being released.
