In "The Perfect Storm," a vicious Nor'easter absorbed a similarly vicious Hurricane Grace and they spun off several vicious offspring storms and, yes, tragedy ensued.
On a brighter note, a perfect storm of fun will align Saturday at Captain Scott's in New London when they present their annual Bisque Fest, starting at 1 p.m. In conjunction with a titular array of creamy soups and the usual and immortal Captain Scott's menu, an all-star array of local roots and Americana bands will perform on the sun-splashed deck. It's hard to imagine a more pleasant day.
Onstage will be the Paul Brockett Roadshow (1 p.m.), John Fries & the Elements (3 p.m.), Daphne Lee Martin (5 p.m.), and The Hoolios (7 p.m.). Oh, and BYOB. For more information, call (860) 439-1741. Admission is free. Captain Scott's Lobster Dock is at 80 Hamilton St., New London.
