Whiteway joins Tony nominating committee

Preston Whiteway, the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's executive director, has been named part of the Tony Awards' Nominating Committee for the 2014-2015 Broadway season.

The Tony Awards Administration Committee announced the members Wednesday. The Nominating Committee attends all productions during the Broadway season and meets to determine, by vote, the Tony Award nominees for that season.

The Tony nominators consist of 50 people for the 2014-2015 season. In addition to Whiteway, the committee features people from all areas of the theater world, from directors to choreographers to producers to performers. Among them are actress Mary-Louise Parker, actor-playwright John Leguizamo, Tisch School of the Arts Dean Mary Schmidt Campbell, former Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts president Reynold Levy, and Yale Institute for Music Theatre Artistic Director Mark Brokaw.
