Bioscience group elects Mackenzie

Rod MacKenzie, site leader at Pfizer Inc.'s Groton campus, was elected last week to the board of the bioscience network Connecticut United for Research Excellence.

MacKenzie's election came during CURE's annual meeting at the Anlyan Center in New Haven. Pfizer donated a building to CURE earlier this year that will be used as a business incubator.

Susan Froshauer, CURE chief executive, announced that the organization has doubled over the past year. Membership includes three Chinese biotech companies, she said, and more than 600 people participated over the past year in such events as the BioHaven entrepreneurship series and the Bioscience Clubhouse meetings.
