Residents of Groton, Ledyard, Stonington, North Stonington and Voluntown will be able to make their own television shows in a new television studio at 80 Plaza Court in the Groton Shopping Plaza.

The facility includes a 30-by-30-foot studio, three editing bays and free training. SEC-TV will hold a ribbon-cutting and grand opening at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18. With the opening, SEC-TV would be the first New London County nonprofit to guide production and programming for surrounding towns, an SEC-TV news release said.

"We are thrilled and are ready to begin airing shows," said Executive Director Frank Facchini. "Our goal is to build programming in all of our towns and grow our facility into a top production company that honors and showcases the many people, events and activities that Southeastern Connecticut has to offer."
