Fitch softball final postponed until today

Fitch High School will have to wait a day in pursuit of its first state softball championship since 2009.

The top-seeded Falcons' scheduled game against No. 19 Sacred Heart of Hamden for the Class L title was postponed by wet field conditions on Friday and will be play today at 7 p.m. at a new site - the Dunn Sports Complex in Meriden. The game was originally scheduled to be played at West Haven High School.

Friday's other softball final, the Class M game between No. 1 Seymour and No. 7 East Haven, was also postponed until today at 1 p.m. and has been moved from DeLuca Field in Stratford to West Haven. West Haven will also host the Class S final between No. 2 Thomaston and No. 8 Old Saybrook at 3:30 p.m. and the Class L final between No. 1 Southington and No. 7 Amity at 7 p.m.
