Groton – City police charged a former Groton woman in connection with a burglary last year during which a gun was stolen.
Jessica L. Monahan, 35, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation by city police detectives into a burglary of a city residence in May 2013. She was charged with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary theft of a firearm, conspiracy to commit theft of a firearm and criminal possession of a pistol or revolver.
Already an inmate at York Correctional Institute in Niantic, Monahan was served with a warrant during a court appearance Wednesday in New London Superior Court.
She is currently serving a 26-month prison sentence for burglary and identity theft charges stemming from arrests in Groton and Waterford, court records show.
In 2006, Monahan was charged with stealing more than $14,000 in rent money and security deposits from a Hamilton Avenue apartment complex she was hired to manage. Records show she received a suspended sentence after her conviction.
