New approach makes health care unaffordable

Recently I received a letter from my primary care physician informing me that she would be dropping all of her patients who could not afford to pay for specialized "Concierge Care through MDVIP" - "Two local doctors try new model to offer 'customized, enhanced primary care'," (June 13).

How ironic that now that a patient can afford insurance coverage she can no longer get to see her PCP. Maybe I will drop my insurance coverage and use the emergency room instead. Oh wait, isn't that just why the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) was designed - to provide patients with an affordable option rather that being forced to use the emergency room?

Surely, someone has gotten it all wrong! Am I missing something here?
