Westerly Hospital offering exercise program for people with arthritis

Westerly – The Westerly Hospital and the Arthritis Foundation are sponsoring a 12-session arthritis exercise program for people with arthritis. 

This gentle exercise program led by trained instructors is designed to help maintain joint range of motion, balance and coordination, muscle strength and good posture. 

Classes will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. from June 30 through Aug. 7. The classes will be held at the Westerly Senior Center at 39 State St. 

There is a $30 fee for the program which includes all 12 sessions. For information or to register, call (401) 596-3593 or (800) 933-5960, extension 3346. 

Westerly Hospital also offers an arthritis support group that meets on the third Tuesday of the month on alternating months from 11 a.m. to noon at the hospital’s Henry J. Nardone Conference Center.
