New London Police Officer Brian Laurie was honored Thursday by the U.S. Attorney’s office for his work on a federal task force.

Laurie, who joined the department in 2003, was the New London Elks officer of the year in 2010 and has been recognized several times for his work in the department’s Vice and Intelligence Section.

He was among a group of 10 local and state law enforcement officers to receive the U.S. Attorney’s Award for Outstanding Partnership for their work in various federal task forces. There were 160 individuals recognized for various achievements at the annual U.S. Attorney’s Office Law Enforcement Awards Ceremony in New Haven.

“Today, we proudly recognize our law enforcement partners for their exceptional work,” stated U.S. Attorney Deidre M. Daly. “We are grateful for the courage and dedication they bring to the job. It is our great honor to work with them and to celebrate their accomplishments as they devote their lives to ensuring the safety and security of our communities and all those who live in our state.”
