Five charged in fight outside NL bar

New London — Police arrested five city residents early this morning after they say they were involved in a fight in front of the Mambo Bar and Restaurant on Bank Street.

Police said that at 2:08 a.m. officers assigned to bar closing detail saw a group of men and women in a fight on the sidewalk. Police said they were able to restore order after the arrival of six backup officers. One officer sustained a minor forearm injury. Police said all five knew each other.

Ligiay Mustaf, 26, of 159 Hawthorne Dr., Apt. 10K, was charged with assault on a police officer and second-degree breach of peace. Angelly Suriel-Reyes, 25, of 125 Third Ave., Sonnel Martinez-Grullon, 27, of 24 Connecticut Ave. and Christian Grullon, 30 of 49 Laurel Dr. were charged with second-degree breach of peace. Bladimir Ramierez-Nunez, of 42 Perry St. was charged with interfering with a police officer.
