Ridgefield (AP) — Ridgefield police say a toddler has died after being left in a hot car.

The 15-month-old boy was left unattended in the car Monday night. Police say he was in the car for an "extended period of time," but were not specific.

Police did not say if charges are being considered and no other details were immediately available on Tuesday.

The cause of death has not been determined.
