Two swimming areas closed amid water quality concerns

Swimming areas at Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret and Burr Pond State Park in Torrington are closed after failing water quality tests, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced today.
All other swimming areas at state parks around the state are open.
Water at Mashamoquet Brook and Burr Pond was resampled today and test results are expected on Thursday, DEEP said.
