East Lyme - Local farms will open for tours from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday during an "Open Farm Day."
The East Lyme Agribusiness Sub-Committee is sponsoring the free event.
Queensway Farm on 88 Grassy Hill Road, an equine facility, will offer tours of its stable and indoor riding ring, as well as a chance to talk with a trainer. The McTurk Family's Donkey Herd at 252 Whistletown Road will invite the public to meet their miniature donkeys and learn about their history.
The historic Samuel Smith House on 82 Plants Dam Road will feature house and barn tours and opportunities to meet oxen with Nancy Kalal and bees with Richard Waterman.
