Diana Owen named head of school at Pine Point

Stonington - Pine Point School announced Tuesday that it had named Diana Owen as its head of school.

Owen, who lives in the borough, has been at Pine Point for 13 years and worked as a teacher, Middle School head, Director of Secondary School Placement, Director of Studies, and most recently, interim head of school.

Owen replaces Stephen Bennhoff who resigned in January after three years at the school. Owen has led the school since.

"Diana brings a long list of strengths to the position," said Board of Trustees President Harvey DeMovick Jr. said in the announcement. "She has extensive experience as an administrator, a deep understanding of Pine Point's academic program and culture, as well as broad recognition from professionals in the educational community. She has an obvious love for and knowledge of Pine Point which will allow her to be an exceptional ambassador for the school."
