Norwich - New Southeast Area Transit bus routes have been established to provide a faster bus commute to Three Rivers Community College starting Aug. 25.
The fare between the Groton/New London area and Norwich will be $2, the same as all other Zone 2 bus fares. This is a reduction from the $2.50 fare for the express route during the 2013-14 academic year.
The morning express bus route begins in Groton, goes to New London and Norwich and then to Three Rivers. This route will ensure that riders going to Three Rivers will be at the college in time for 9 or 9:30 a.m. classes.
The afternoon express bus routes will run between Three Rivers, Norwich and the New London Transportation Center on Water Street. The frequency of bus routes between New London and Norwich during the afternoon hours between 1 and 7 p.m. would facilitate timely connections at the New London Transportation Center for riders needing to go on to Groton, college officials said.
The express route will be posted on the SEAT and Three Rivers' websites.
