Can't impeach Obama for following the law

This is in response to the letter, "Obama aids invasion and guilty of treason," (July 24). Obama is only guilty of following the law. In 2008, through a bipartisan effort, the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act was passed and signed into law by President George W. Bush.

This law mandates that the recent immigrant children who come from nations that are not Mexico or Canada, must be treated differently. Unlike those who come from Mexico or Canada, these children must first see their day in court before being sent back to their nation of origin.

President Obama is simply following Bush's law.

Obama is not guilty of treason, he is utilizing his implied powers. As Speaker Boehner refuses to take votes on legislation, the president recognizes the need to get something done. He does so by issuing executive orders.

According to the University of California Santa Barbara's Presidency Project, Obama has issued only 183 executive orders. George W. Bush issued 291. Reagan issued 381. FDR issued 3,522.

Instead of action, the House will vote this week to sue the president and senselessly waste taxpayer money for a political stunt. Boehner is suing Obama for following the law.
