In an effort to keep the public informed of the new Morgan project, The Morgan Building Committee will submit an article semi-monthly to the Harbor News. To suggest topics or request answers to questions, write to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Morgan Building Committee recently received the news that all of the state and federal permits necessary to move forward with the new Morgan project have been approved.
The process, which began four years ago, called for town, state, and federal applications and approvals, numerous meetings, engineering studies and reports, and architectural planning and designs, among the other requirements to get the final go-ahead to go out to bid.
According to Hal Chait of the project's construction manager, FIP Construction, Inc., "The construction schedule will commence in September of 2014 and be completed by May 2016."
The final bidding proposal has been put together by FIP Construction, Inc., which covers all facets of the building project, was published and distributed on
July 25, 2014.
It calls for potential subcontractors to submit their bids for work on the new Morgan project by Aug. 21.
