East Haddam — The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection announced Friday that a public information meeting is scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. on Sept. 2 to provide information about the proposed renovation of the state boat launch on Bashan Lake in East Haddam.

The meeting will take place at the Grange Hall, 488 Town St. Attendees will have a chance to look over the design, make comments and talk to DEEP staff about the proposed work.

Plans are to reconstruct the launch and make it a state-of-the-art, handicapped accessible facility. The ramp will be replaced with a single lane, grooved, concrete slab surface with concrete pavers installed around the ramp to prevent erosion. An ADA accessible, fixed dock system will be added to make launching and retrieval of boats safer and more efficient, DEEP said in a news release.

The parking lot will be redesigned with the turning area and handicapped parking space paved, with the rest of the lot remaining a gravel surface. Concrete wheel stops will be used to designate parking stalls, and the launch capacity will be no more than 10 trailered and five car spaces. A concrete platform with protective bollards will be added for the portable toilet.

DEEP hopes to begin the project next spring.

I have no idea. This show is a massive bummer and I have no interest in it.
I wouldn't know because I know better than to watch depressing fare that's just a waste of time.
