Stonington police break up large party, arrest five

Stonington — Police, with the assistance of state and Groton Town police, broke up a large party Friday night at 440 Al Harvey Road.

Capt. Jerry Desmond said there were at least 300 attendees at the party. He said he did not know what the large crowd was celebrating.

According to land records, the Groton Sportmen’s Club owns the property. The club is located at 421 Al Harvey Road.

Desmond said someone at 440 Al Harvey Road called around 11:30 p.m. for assistance after some party-goers refused to leave.

Desmond said the party got out of control and there were some reported fights. He said five people were arrested while police dispersed the crowd.

The following were people were arrested:

Daniel William Cracas, 21, of Torrington was charged Friday with first-degree criminal trespass.

Ricky D. Avery, 24, of 43 S. Long Pond Road, Ledyard, was charged Friday with interfering with an officer and first-degree criminal trespass.

Andrew Sidhu, 25, of Weston was charged Friday with breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

Kristina Wood, 24, of Oakdale was charged Friday with breach of peace and interfering with an officer.

Joshua Michael Gluck, 22, of Plainfield was charged Friday with first-degree criminal trespass, breach of peace, and assaulting public safety personnel.
