RAFA holding first summer social Friday

New London - The Retired Armed Forces Association is having its first summer social at 4 p.m. on Aug. 15 at 135 Garfield Ave., New London.

Doors open at 4 p.m. and dinner will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Donations are $15 a person.

Dinner will be a choice of rib eye steak or grilled chicken breast and will include a Champaign toast, an appetizer and desert buffet.

There will also be dancing and music from the 1940s to the 1960s.

On Aug. 16 the club will have a taco night that begins at 6 p.m.

The club is also collecting books for the local veterans hospital. Book donations may be dropped off at the club between 1 and 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
