East Lyme – The East Beach swimming area at Rocky Neck State Park is closed due to high bacteria levels in water samples taken earlier this week, the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection said today.
The West Beach swimming area at Rocky Neck remains open. All other swimming areas at state parks around the state are open, DEEP said.
Results of water samples taken today at East Beach are expected Wednesday. The East Beach swimming area was also closed last week due to poor water quality.
