New London – A drug-related police raid at a city residence Wednesday led to the arrest of two people and seizure of a large quantity of cocaine and heroin, packaging material and a gun with ammunition, police said.
Charles Gibson, 53, was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Gibson has two drug-related felony convictions on his criminal record, court records show.
Police said Gibson was present when they executed a search warrant at his home at 40 Greenway Road.
The raid was conducted by the New London Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Division with assistance from the Connecticut State Police Narcotics Task Force Eastern District.
During the course of the search, police said they also charged Chrisma Gibson, 25, with interfering with a search warrant because she attempted to restrict officers’ access to the residence.
Charles Gibson is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Thursday in New London Superior Court.
