Storrs — UConn football coach Bob Diaco said Thursday night on his weekly radio show that quarterback Casey Cochran will not play Saturday against Stony Brook.
Diaco said Cochran sustained an “upper body injury.”
A source said Cochran sustained a concussion during the late stages of last Saturday’s 35-10 loss to Brigham Young. He started against BYU and completed 17 passes for 131 yards.
It is unclear the number of games Cochran will miss or whether he will recover in time to start against Boise State Sept. 13 at Rentschler Field.
Senior Chandler Whitmer will start for the Huskies.
