    Fitch High School Hall of Fame to induct inaugural class, Nov. 9

    Fifteen former athletes will be inducted as part of the inaugural Fitch High School Athletic Hall of Fame class being honored Sunday, Nov. 9 at St. Mary Mother of the Redeemer Banquet Hall in Groton.

    Being inducted are John Lawrence "Larry" Sullivan (Class of 1935, football, basketball, indoor track, outdoor track); Jack Tansey (Class of 1940, football), Ray Bracci (Class of 1943, football); Tom Halliwell (Class of 1959, football, basketball, baseball); Al Chapman (Class of 1962, football, indoor track, outdoor track); Thomas Yarman (Class of 1963, football, basketball, outdoor track); Dottie Richardson (Class of 1974, basketball, outdoor track); William "Bill" Borden (Class of 1977, football, indoor track, outdoor track); David Menhart (Class of 1985, soccer, baseball); Todd Clarke (Class of 1986, soccer, golf); Dion Devega (Class of 1989, soccer, wrestling); Jason Teague (Class of 1992, football, indoor track, outdoor track); Sarah Renzler (Class of 1994, swimming, indoor track, tennis); Sarah Latham (Class of 2004, volleyball, basketball, outdoor track); and Todd Doyle (Class of 2005, basketball, baseball).

    Those who are already recognized on the Fitch Wall of Fame will be grandfathered into the Fitch Athletic Hall of Fame. They are John Kelley (cross country coach, 1959-79); John Carney (Class of 1959, football, basketball, outdoor track); Mike Ellis (Class of 1963, football, basketball, baseball); Amby Burfoot (Class of 1963, cross country, track); David Campo (Class of 1965, football); Glenn Miller (Class of 1979, basketball, baseball); Kathy Gailor Fedorjaka (Class of 1986, basketball, softball); Paul Menhart (Class of 1987, soccer, basketball, baseball); and Raheem Carter (Class of 2000, football, track).

    The induction ceremony will be held beginning at 1 p.m. Tickets are $45 and can be purchased at Hub's Clam Shack, at the Fitch High School media center from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. or from committee members.
