New London - The world-premiere screening of the movie version of Wally Lamb’s “Wishin’ & Hopin’” at the Garde Arts already is sold out. So the organizers have added a second showing — a 6:30 p.m. Nov. 23 one, in addition to the previously announced 2:30 p.m. Nov. 23 event. The film, shot in and around Norwich this summer, stars Molly Ringwald, Annabella Sciorra, Meat Loaf, Conchata Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Danny Nucci, Wyatte Raiff, Quinn McColgan and Chevy Chase.

Lamb and some members of the cast and crew will attend, with a question-and-answer period following each screening. “Wishin’ & Hopin’” — a coming-of-age tale set during the Christmas season in 1964 — was made by Synthetic Cinema International, which is based in Rocky Hill.
