'In Pursuit of Magic' opens in Groton

Just because someone says "In Pursuit of Magic," don't automatically assume he or she has tickets to see Criss "Mindfreak" Angel's latest tour - wherein he'll perform a trick that enables him to correctly spell "Chris" - or set up camp next to the grave of Harry Houdini, who promised to come back from the dead on Halloween. Think more aesthetically!

Consider "In Pursuit of Magic," a new art exhibition going up in Noank's Pratt-Wright Gallery and featuring works by Cheryl Blanchard, Alyson Maderson-Quinlog and Kat Murphy. Opening reception is 7 p.m. Saturday. The gallery is located at 48 Main St., Groton., and the show runs through Nov. 10. Hours 4-7 p.m. Fri. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat. and noon-4 p.m. Sun.; (860) 912-0555.
